The world's a scary place...

Right now, it seems as if the world is a very scary place. There is so much violence and death, even on tv. Then there is a lot of political upheval. So many global earth changes, earthquakes, volvanoes. It makes you wonder what it all means.

I recently returned from a women's retreat in Chappel Hill, TX. It was so wonderful. You can feel spirit throughout the property. The love of my fellow sisters was also something to be valued. Then to have to leave all that love and openess behind, it was very hard to come back to Corpus.

A part of me is very very sad. I miss my sisters, I miss that feeling of being open, honest, loved, and vauled for who I am.

What do you do when you come home, only to find out that it's no longer your home?

It's finally finished!

Yes, I finally finished my book, and the title I finally settled on is Amateur Queen: Kathrine Meets the Pirates! It's book 1! I'm already working on Book 2!

My book will be published through Create Space and my proof will be here any day! Then I can put it for sale, and anyone can buy it! Also I entered the Breakout Novel Contest from Amazon.com and Create space. There were two catagories, general fiction and Young Adult. I ended up in leaving it in Young Adult. I think that's a good place for it.

On Feb. 25th they will announce those who go on to the next round, depending on my pitch. If I make it past that they editors will read my fist 5000 words. And if I make it past that round they will read my manuscript. If I win one of the two first prize slots I could be published by Penguin and offered a 15,000 dollar upfront royalty.

I'll announce if I made it to round two on Feb. 25th!

It's Done!!

Happy Chinese New Year! It's the year of the Tiger and what a great year it will be too!

Helko out there. I'm finishing up my new website to coincide with my upcoming book which will be available through createspace in association with Amazon. I'm very exctied. Things are going well. I'm working on editting right now (the final stages) and am going to enter a contest on Create Space for the Breakout Novel Award.

Well we'll see how everything goes from here. For those of you who might want a preview of my novel you may get that on Facebook. I've posted up to eight chapters there and on inkpop.com, but have no inclination about putting out more than 9chapters. If you really like it you'll have to buy it from my createspace store as soon as I finish setting it up. Hopefully by the end of next week!!!

Well I'm still not where I want to be, but I see clearly the many possiblities. If you have a specific dream, make sure you hold onto it because that is the one that has the most meaning for you. If it calls to you the most then that is where the Universe most likely wants you to be, as well.

As for my book, I'm reconsidering all the options, even the crazy ones. I want to publish it myself, but I still don't have a place from which to do that so I may go with one of these sites that help you do that.

New Life

I'm currently in a holding pattern. Life is good, but not exactly where I wanted to be. But I know the Creator has a plan and purpose and I will someday soon be living in a new place.

I have not heard back from that Penguin Publisher (Razorbill), but I'm hopeful. And if I don't hear back from them in the next 30 days or so I'll probably just proceed to publish myself as I had intended.

So all is in perfect order really. And my husband (Hopegiver) and I are thinking of buying a retreat center. I'll update all those interested in that also, let you know how it's going.

They're interested!

It's been awhile since I posted, mainly because I didn't have anyting to post. But on Monday a branch of Penguin invited me to send in my whole manuscript!

Now I am ever so excited. Even if it leads to nothing, it's good to finally have someone that's interested. I'm trying to prep my manuscript for take off. Hopefully it'll be packaged to mail by Sat. and in someone's hands by Tuesday, then it's just a waiting game.

In the meantime I have decided whether it gets published through them or not, I will still have my own press. I know so many people with interesting stories that would make great books.
