When it's all ego...

The great enemy of peace is ego. Ego makes you judge others and think about them in an unkind way. It makes you force others to do what you want. In this way you forget you are a student and that you are here to learn. (thought for the day)

~This was posted by my dear friend Laura Love on facebook. I think someone else added a great comment that if you try to please ego people, you never will, no matter what you do or how hard you try or how much of yourself you give it will never ever be enough to please ego-driven people.

Freedom of speech?

Recently came across a guys blog-post (obviously a guy), and he had many pics of famous women in various semi-nude poses to completely nude and many in X-rated poses. I have to wonder how other people, especially women feel about this?

Granted the pics are avaialble to anyone who types in the right search words into google, but what if I don't want to see that on a blog I like to read?What if I don't want my son, who's just turning 11 this week, to see them either? Blogger has even erected a warning that the blog may be objectionable to some people. Isn't that even enough to get the blog or the pics taken down?

I feel that anyone who looks at pics of women like that are not thinking of the women themselves and who they are. Only what they are and how much pleasure their pics can give a man (usually only men) for a few minutes. How sad is that? Or is it? I wonder if other's see this as rather pathetic too?

On Writing

Here's some tips for writers.

Tip 1: If you want to write a book, well you have to make yourself sit down and write it. Some people like to write it all at once. But let me tell you that most of us have to live in the world and then look for time to write. An hour here, 15 mins there, and pretty soon I've finished a chapter.

Tip 2: Don't worry how it looks or about all the grammar and misspelling, you can go back later and fix most of it real fast with spell-check!

Tip 3: If you want to be a good writer, I mean really good, you have to be a good reader. As I read a book from Stephen King on the topic he says he reads from every genre whenever he possibly can. And on this I have to agree. Read read and then read some more, especially in the genre that you want to write in.

Tip 4: Less of a tip and more of a motivational speech, but take it easy on yourself. We live hectic lives and if for some reason you don't finish writing or editing or don't begin when you wanted to, that's okay too. It's not the end of the world, so just keep on writing whenever you can.

Writing Contest

Hello, and thank you Patrica for sending me that info on a writing contest with Del Rey books. It's still available for anyone interested, until the 18th, I believe. So hurry with your submission. I'm planning on entering my novel, Kathrine and the Pirates, about the 1st 3 chapters. We'll see what happens, keep your fingers crossed.

I just added a new profile pic here. If you look at it closely you'll think of a very specific kind of place. Well, anyway it's where Kathrine and the Pirates Book II is headed in the book. Kind of a neat looking place. Wish I could go too! I'm enjoying writing up book II, with ideas swimming in my head for a Book III and IV already!

Fairies

The fairies are making themselves known to me. Every time I turn around I see something about fairies or female creatures with wings. Birds and flowers are now on my bedroom wall. And I just did a card reading for myself and pulled the Fairies card. I often call this synchronicity, but I'm gonna call it their attention getting way of communicating with me.

They must want me to have more magic in my life. And of course in order to feel that I have to be present in the moment, stop thinking so much of the past or the future, as fairies only live for now.

And oddly enough, Fairies or the Fey as I call them, are in my book too. Is that coincidence? I highly doubt that!

What is the higher lesson here?

That true magic has always existed and will continue to exist as long as there are humans. The magic of manifesting our deepest desires. Speak them aloud to the universe! Tell it what you really and truly want! Even if it is completely outrageous! Do it anyway, and stand back and watch what takes shape in front of you. And if we ever doubt the existence of magic in the universe just think of love and know that magic and love are really the same thing used with 2 different words to describe it.

Injustices

As I look around this world I see and hear things that are so hypocritical and unfair I want to scream and yell! Then I think, 'Would they hear me? Would they even care if I pointed to the injustices they are perpetrating?'

This is when I realize that they do not give a damn, nor will they ever, mostly likely not in this life-time. So after raising so much energy to harness that righteous anger I come to the startling realization that it's all for nothing I am deflated like a balloon that has lost all it's air.

How sad, how depressing this can seem. If we continue to let it get to us. In these times we must harden ourselves a little. We can still be upset when we see injustices occurring, even when they are right under our noses! But do not despair for Heaven sees all and knows all, and if you are walking the path and being true to your better nature then you shall be rewarded. And if you are not or know someone who isn't then remember that Karma does indeed exist.

A New Day is Dawing

A new day is dawning, according to my favorite Earth Angel, Karen Bishop. What she has been saying has made so much sense to me. There are so many human beings that walking around in a zombie like state. They are only half-wake, spiritually speaking. And then they encounter so many things in our society, especially all the technology, that encourage people to stay asleep. It is much like one of my favorite movies, "They Live!" Where the people are encouraged to stay asleep so that the aliens can continue to run human society.

I think are times are much like that right now. So many of you are waking up and looking around at all the injustices occurring in the world and saying, "Why isn't someone doing something about this?" Others of us are just trying to keep our heads down and focus on harnessing the Celestial energy that has finally come for us to utilize. And most of us are already pre-programmed to use that energy in bringing the Earth out of these dark times.

In other news, I am doing a re-write of my first book and going to be re-posting it and pushing it for others to read and review soon. The first thing I want to do is change the title. I think I finally settled on, Kathrine and the Pirates Book 1: When Kathrine Meet the Pirates.

This title thing is really hard, but I think I like this. So for the time being my friends I'll leave you with some encouraging words.

Though the tunnel is long and dark, there is light on the other side.
